The Portland-based Backstrokes Sing-Along group for stroke and brain injury survivors has been playing music together since 2011. However, we have been limited in the number of people we were able to reach.
In 2017, we joined a collaboration between Strokefocus and other local support networks across the country, with the shared goal to significantly increase the number of people who receive meaningful support after a stroke or brain injury. In February 2020, this collaboration helped the Stroke Association Support Network-Ghana launch the first Post Discharge Stroke Support Program in the world.
The NW Brain Network is made up of survivors, family, caregivers, and friends in the greater Portland area. Using the powerful Strokefocus platform designed specifically for the stroke and brain injury community, we are now able to connect you directly with those who can help.
